A superb one day course on sourdough baking. With four of us on the course we all got to make our own breads, which we took home at the end of the day. 4 in all plus some crackers. We also baked our lunch. Impossible to believe it was all done in 6 hours. Liz is a very good teacher, the atmosphere was very relaxed and we all had plenty of opportunities for questions. In addition to the four breads, we also took home some crackers, all the recipes and a sourdough starter with a small bag of flour to feed it. Brilliant

I did the 2 day Bread Angles course with Liz (Ma Baker) over the space of a couple of weeks (lots of time to practice what I’d learned in between) and it was such an amazing experience. Liz is an excellent teacher and just a lovely person to spend a couple of days with geeking out about making bread. Her Passion for it really shines through. Not only did I come out of this having greatly improved my baking skills but I also got a lot knowledge regarding running a microbakery business. This course really gave me the confidence to move forward with my own aspiring bakery and I would recommend it and Liz to anyone with similar ambitions.

Liz makes this a fabulous experience, even if you’re a complete novice. I went along just for something to do after so long not doing much through the pandemic, but was very pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed it much more than I expected and the lunch that we had was delicious. Fours hours went by in a flash and we left with loads of bread, having also learned something genuinely interesting whist having a good laugh. I’d recommend anyone who even thinks that they might fancy one of the Ma Baker courses to give it a go. The different breads that you can buy are pretty special too.

Your New Bread School is Wonderful
Thank you for a wonderful ‘Introduction to Bread Making’ course. Your new bread school is a wonderful space, welcoming and relaxed. Liz shared her vast knowledge of bread making from the ‘chemistry’ through to tips and tricks to guarantee great bread. The course included a number of delicious breads ? Liz made a delicious lunch – with fresh bread of course. As soon as I’ve mastered the basics I’ll be back for more!

We recently attended Liz’s introduction to breadmaking. This was a fantastic way to spend a few hours on a Saturday where we were shown how to make a wide variety of breads. Liz makes the learning experience very enjoyable and had plenty of tips to share for a successful bake. We all shared a wonderful lunch which included some of Liz’s bakes which were so tasty. Then at the end of the course we each had a big bagful of bread to take home. Great experience – Thank you.

Book quickly, you wont regret it.
I think that I speak for the whole group when I say we had a great day. All of us had dabbled before, some more than others but we all came away educated in the art of sourdough bread making. Liz is a patient teacher she answered all of our many questions and we produced under her experienced eye four lovely loaves and some biscuits. The day passed all too quickly but never felt rushed. The lunch with the focaccia was a delight. Needless to say the bread we made did not last long. I made a focaccia the very next day and took it to a family gathering and it disappeared in the blink of an eye. My first attempt at you sourdough rye loaf is proving. I shall be making some discard biscuits this weekend. Get your place booked up quickly you won’t regret it. Thanks again and all the best.

I was given the Introduction to Bread course for Christmas and what a great present it was. We were a group of 3 and from start to finish we learned, chatted, tasted and laughed. Liz is a great teacher and passionate about her breads. We left with lots of samples of our efforts and thanks to Liz’s guidance we were all very pleased with our results. I’d highly recommend this course and am looking forward to booking the Italian breads course next. Thanks Liz it was a great time.

Back for seconds
I’ve just been to Liz for the second time and it was just as wonderful as the first. It’s just so lovely to be taught in her home, it feels like you are hanging out with a friend who is sharing her knowledge with you. And I learnt so much, plus I came home with a bag full of delicious bread!! And lunch is amazing too. Cannot recommend Liz’s courses highly enough 🙂

What a wonderful day!
My husband is a huge sourdough and focaccia fan so I took myself off to learn with Liz…to be able to bake him good preservative free bread. What a wonderful day it was…Liz is a true inspiration and full of knowledgeable nuggets and gems about all things bread! She is a great teacher full of wonderful qualities…kindness, patience, knowledge, to name but a few! I came away with so much information, bread and new skills. The group were so accommodating and friendly which was great for a total newbie to encounter. My husband collected me after and he hand’t even started the car engine before tucking into a square of succulent focaccia (his words). I have just made my first attempt at porridge bread and have a focaccia dough on the go for baking tomorrow. I can’t wait to bake more and look forward to learning more about bread with Liz! Oh and the bread I took home was/is moreish beyond belief! I have never tasted such a heavenly rye 🙂

Absolutely fantastic. Liz is a wonderful teacher taking a complete beginner (me) through a range of breads, techniques and top tips. Very friendly, lovely set up and baking area. Liz has plenty of knowledge to share and is very enthusiastic. Would highly recommend for anyone interested in bread, or thinking of a gift for the avid novice baker. Within 24 hours of this course I was making my own bread and butter at home!!

My brother and I had a wonderful time on Liz’s one-day sourdough bread course. We came home with enough bread to fill both tummies and freezers and learnt a huge amount (shower caps are a game changer!). I had taken another bread course earlier this year and this really built on that. Liz is a great teacher and company, and the day was nicely broken up with tea, homemade biscuits and chats about sourdough starter best practice. Cannot recommend enough.

Micro Bakery Course
Earlier in the year I took Ma Baker’s one day Artisan bread course, this course was taught with patience, wisdom and an infectious enthusiasm and passion. So much so I booked onto the two day Microbakery course and it did not disappoint! We baked a ridiculous amount of bread, all to take home, whilst learning not only new skills and techniques but Ma also generously shared her industry knowledge and experience and some of her award winning recipes! Safe to say Ma has been instrumental in my bread journey and I can’t wait to join this warm, embracing community that Ma so brilliantly represents.
